Gallery Folders | FeaturedCommentsNice to find out that someone is capable to shoot 'man' in an interesting way.. it's really rare to find pictures like those you made. Not one..but several. Even on DA you only find a projection of woman photo-styles copied on to man..(or showing off their sex). What is ridiculous. You show us what it must be. The"man"how he is..his character, his spirit. And still understanding the woman's way to be what they are and want to be. Great respect for your view and capturing those in pictures in an honest and believing way.
Thank you very much for your generous and insightful words. I grew up in Rome and have lived there off and on my entire life. For me, the male body is not just an object of sex but very much a work of art like the paintings and sculptures I grew up with. Using my camera as my medium I explore both male and female bodies with the same respect and awe while at the same time being very aware of and sensitive to the differences. Each model inspires something unique in our work and I try to follow that inspiration so that the expressions can be honest and authentic. I love my work and am glad that you're enjoying it too. Thank you.
I'm only honest..your work is a relieve for what I see random on sites like DA and others. It makes the view of 'man' more interesting to work with. Your background in the past explains a lot..I think. Growing up with the ancient arts instead with the pop-publicity-art today makes a great difference in how to see the bones of construction instead of drapery hiding all weakness in art like sculpting, painting, photography, literature e.o. You know to find the backbone..and know how to show or work with it. Keep on going..and thanks for shearing worldwide.
Thank you once again for sharing your thoughts. I have a strong commitment to the purity of our bodies in my artwork. It's not that I need genitals or breasts in my work, it's that I need my work to be free from any pretense of modesty or hiding. And that's why it's so important for me that my models be completely open and free with their bodies. I shoot for the overall beauty of the person in front of me without concern for the presence or absence of any particular part of the body. That to me is the strength and the beauty of who we are as humans - all of us complete and free and open. When all of that is in place then the creativity can happen.
The album, Narcissus, is brilliant! I like the story about Narcissus, and this is so like the story!
Thank you! I've been having a lot of fun with the Narcissus series for a few years now and see no signs of slowing down yet.
