This is my baby girl all grown up. She'd already had her 3 kids when we did these pictures! Her name is Aurelia which comes from the Latin word for light. And she is truly, in every sense of the word, the light of my life.

Thank you! I love watching how instantly she goes into character in front of the camera. 30 years of having my cameras turned on her has made her a natural. We have so much fun when the cameras come out - one day I'm going to do a book of just her. So so many pictures...

She's got a pretty powerful feel to her image, like she's ready to take on the world and nothing can defeat her. Your daughter's pretty amazing. Does it run in the family?

My daughter is powerful and strong, no doubt about it. But it's all wrapped up in amazing warmth and kindness. The only thing for sure that runs in our family however, is lots and lots of curly hair. Hers was blown out for this shoot but left to its own devices it curls. Not as tightly as mine, but it's there. Everything else is way to subjective to even begin to comment on. :-)

This photo so reminds me of a Hollywood prime photo of an actress waiting off stage before she hits the set. Very self-assured, ready to roll with the camera. You two make a good team, I must say.

Yes, yes! Self-assured is so spot on. And yet it's infused with so much graciousness and warmth. I have an obvious bias, but I can also see her quite objectively now that we're both adults. She's kind in a way that one seldom sees in life, and kindness to me is everything. We love doing pictures together and in fact are going to be doing some new pictures very soon.
