K is for Kalari by 3feathers K is for Kalari by 3feathers
Nicole and Andrejs performing Kalari on the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. Photographed by Tom Clark

Kalari is the oldest form of martial artistry practiced in the world today. Flow Yoga in Salt Lake City is the only studio in the US currently teaching it.

Except for a slight bump in contrast this image is unmanipulated.

K = Kalari: a wonderful series, almost unreal in correspondences, reflections and light!

I had never seen Kalari before that day. Wow, was I in for a treat! They go through the movements in complete harmony and oneness with each other. It's so elegant and primitive and beautiful.

I can't put it to words, but I love this shot. Such a beautiful/unique location to work with. I'm loving all the Salt Flat shots.

Simply awesome. The composition of the shot, the location, the movement - a triumph.

Thanks Adrian. It's the back cover of my new book The Utah Collection Volume 2 which hopefully will be going to press soon.

Thank you Adrian. I'm still in awe myself; to have that precise moment when everything is so graceful and perfect is so rare. It's always such a crap shoot with digital so I am flooded with excitement when images like this happen.
