Silent walks the half-moon king to the only place on earth where he can be alone. Cool waters bubble up from somewhere deep in the earth; he listens to their stories and nods. A raven cries out somewhere in the distance but it's not the king he speaks to. A dragonfly goes this way and that way and then stops as if frozen on the tip of a reed; the king says hello and continues on to a place he knows where he can slip unnoticed into the cool clear water; his crown unguarded and robe unfolded by the water's edge. "Hello water, hello dragonfly, hello reeds, hello raven. How is everybody today?"

I love this photograph...and the storyline in your description adds to the overall visual, making it all the better! Several of your photo's of Dale have been my favorites in your gallery. I particularly remember your "Dances with Sage" series with Dale, and loved them all...but there was the one with him turned with his rear mostly facing the camera that was a favorite among favorites, and it was because (and you can laugh at me if you want) the guy has a very nice ass!

Dale is beautifully put together and as a professional dancer (now retired) he's kept his body in wonderful shape. And yes, he does have a spectacular butt. First time I saw it I gasped a little inside. His tremendous physicality and creativity are on full display in the Dances With Sage series.

I love how the pattern of the cloth looks so natural against the grass, and how the model's shoulders match so well to the lines of the mountains--as if he's just another peak. As with so many of your images, the man becomes a primal force, a little-g god (genius, in the old Roman mythic sense of the word) inhabiting and embodying nature itself.

Beautiful observation. Thank you. Dale fit so perfectly into the surroundings and in a very real way became one with them, which inspired the story of the Half Moon King when I was back home editing the images. My work with him over the course of several shoots yielded some beautiful images that have become very popular on sites like this. Hoping to work with him again this summer.
